My PS3 turns off (completely, no red light) after a few minutes playing Call of Duty 3. It's new. I bought it a week ago and it's first time I use it. Anybody knows something?

It sounds like it's overheating. It's probably a manufacturing defect. It's best you probably carry it back to the store and/or exchange it.

hey i bought pS 3 few days back and when ever i play Gta 4 bec that is the only game i have. it turns it sel of after 15 mins and the red light is on and every thing and it can be turned back on immediatly. help me pls

I'm from Russia, I have US version PS3. After 15-20 minutes of trying play Call of Duty 3, its shut down, but when I turned it on with tumbler on the back panel, I figured its alive. But trying to play CoD3 again causes same result. It seems like the COD3 is damn PS3 destroyer..

I have one of the first models of 60gb ps3, never had a problem until now. I have the intercooler and was playing cod3 today for the first time and it shut off on me. It won't start back up. The ps was really warm so i have it airing out. i hope it works tomorrow. HELP!!

I have the same problem. When I installed Call of Duty 3, the game asked me to download an update and it went off completely. I have to unpluge it and plug it again in order to turn it on. Since then I have been using it with movies and other games without problem. But today I was playing call of duty again and the ps3 went off and I couldn't turn it back on. I don't know what to do. Someone help!!

The same exact thing just happened to me. It's happened twice now. I just jumped on the internet to see if this is happening to other people and it is. Just bought the PS3 3 days ago. Played Resistence for 2 days. No problems. Just popped in COD3 and it completely shutdown everything. Shut it off in the back, tried it again...happened again after about 10 min. I refuse to put that game back in the PS3. What is the deal? It figures that one of the games that comes with the system...destroys it! I don't understand.

sounds to me like you bought an expensive peice of rubbish (which is 1000 dollars australian) when you could have bought the much better xbox 360 for a little over half the price of the PS-Suck,

I'm having the same problem here. I bought it in USA, and now I'm in Brazil. I just used the game for 5 days and yesterday, after I turn it on and was trying to play Call of Duty 3, the system turned off (like other couple times) and now it does not turn on, event 10hours later. Please let me know if you find something.

I have the exact same problem. It only happens with this particular game.I bought mine in the US but I live in Colombia. If you know something please let me know.
