Why do most Jehovah's Witnesses obligate their members to be clean-shaven? Are bearded members threatened with any disciplinary action?

Yes. Bearded members lose toilet paper privledges. They also have to sit on the bearded side of the hall. It mostly consists of men but there are a few ladies. Thank goodness for segregation.

You cannot be disfellowshipped for facial hair. Then again, you can have certain privileges curtailed. What I want to know is how the person that has tattoos up and down their arms from a ten year stint being disfellowshipped is looked at. There ain't a darn thing you can do about them unless you are rich enough to go for laser removal and can deal with the pain. Tattoos cannot be "shaved off".
