A mouth guard might help, but there really isn't much that can be done. When people are asleep they can't really help the teeth grinding. My partner does it as do I (on occasion). Maybe he needs to learn some relaxation techniques so as not to be stressed and grinding his teeth.

An OTC bite guard will work. An extreme answer would be duct tape.

He can go to a dentist and get fitted with a mouth guard. The new ones are not very uncomfortable. They are made specifically for that person and work very well.

I used to have this problem until i got my retainer which is like a mouthguard. But before that I just wore a mouthguard. It can be a little uncomfortable to sleep with though.

The mouth guard is a common prevention technique. Bruxism is very common.Check it out on Wikipedia. There is no cure..but a dental guard will help minimise the tooth damage he is doing...and allow your daughter to sleep.
