  • G'day Whippet, Thank you for your question. I have vaccinations. The fact is that they have saved as many lives as antibiotics. Smallpox, a killer disease, was wiped off the face of the earth due to vaccinations. Polio which was another deadly disease has come close to being wiped off the face of the earth. While there can be some mild side effects and it can even cause the very occasional death, vaccination is an essential public health measure which has saved hundreds of millions of lives. If we could develop a vaccine for AIDS, it would be a huge breakthrough. Further, vaccination is relatively inexpensive as compared to medicine making it well suited for poorer countries. I have attached sources for your reference. • I have been vaccinated against polio, measles, german measles, diptheria, whooping cough and tetanus as a child, and smallpox to migrate to Australia as a baby. For travel purposes, I have had hepatitis A&B, cholera ,typhoid and the flu vaccine. My children had all the vaccinations required of them. I am pro vaccination. I travel in poor countries and see the effects of what we call minor illnesses, which are only "minor" in the sense that the majority of vaccinated people are cushioning the minority who do not get vaccinated. My uncle and aunt had polio before there was immunisation in the 40s. I have seen first hand what such a preventable illness can do. My mother suffered shingles, which is the adult form of chickenpox. That was awful to watch and consider that she could have lost vision in one eye. Now that children can be vaccinated against chicken pox, we should see fewer examples of shingles in the future.
  • Yes i have had vacinations. I believe they prevent the epidemics of disease that we used to see in the past. Vacinations help prevent things like the black plague

  • Vaccination for me is safe as long as it will be done by an expert and, if you really need the shot that will be given to you. This is for preventive measure. But if my answer is still unreasonable, maybe it's best that you attend to this conference just like me - http://www.nvic.org/events.aspx
