• It is supposed by various Catholic authors that Mary the mother of Jesus assended like her son into Heaven & therefore is a "Queen of Heaven"... I suspect she died of old age some where between Jerusalem & Nazareth... However since we have yet to find further archeology on her family it is difficult to prove... I personally believe that many of the ideas about her are blown out of portpotion... To me Mariyam was a decent Jewish girl who was 13 years old when she was pregnant & later birthed Christ in Bethlehem... I have researched enough about her through Roman Catholic websites & I am not convinced she is a "Queen of Heaven" or the various other claims made by thier Organization...
• In Catholic tradition, she ascended to heaven without dying. In Eastern Orthodox tradition, she died and was resurrected on the third day and rose to heaven. Needless to say, not all Christian churches and traditions believe in this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assumption_of_Mary
• she ascended into heaven. info on this belief and why the RCC, Orthodox, etc believe this way go to: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02006b.htm The earliest known literary reference to the Assumption is found in the Greek work De Obitu S. Dominae (dates to the 4th or 5th century). The first mention of the Assumption was by Epiphanius in 377 A.D also http://www.bustedhalo.com/features/AssumptionFacts.htm
• nt sorry.
• only 3 people are in heaven as of now... Elijah, Enoch and Jesus... all other people died are still here on earth with their soul still attach to their body and spirit goes back to its Creator..
• I'd say since she was human, that yes she did die. Either that or she would be among us today. There is nothing in the New Testament about her death, burial. I'm sure like Moses and others, God has her body well hidden from human destruction. I am a Protestant Christian, I do not mean to say that the Roman Catholics are wrong, it is not my belief that she ascended into Heaven. When we get into Heaven we will all know the truth. In His service, <:))))<>< "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21
• the gates of heaven were closed till jesus opened them thats a fact also mary the mother of jesus preached in the upper room where jesus had the last supper fact also mary died as an older woman and her soul went straight to heaven because she was born without sin and her body was the first temple of jesus st michael is the one who brought her body to heaven where it was made perfect and given back to her these are the facts as in scripture but i ask you if mary the mother of jesus is not the queen of heaven the who would be better then her to hold that place in heaven if you dout this then your faith is very very low
• Catholics believe in the assumption of the body of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven after her death. John 19:26-27 states: When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple (John) took her into his home. The minutes of the Ecumenical Council of Ephesus in 431 C.E. indicate that four or six years after the death and resurrection of Jesus, John and the Virgin Mary came together to Ephesus, and for a short time stayed in the building, a section of which is now under Church of the Virgin Mary today. Later John moved the Virgin Mary to a house he had prepared for her on Bulbul Dagi (Bulbul Hill). She lived there until the end of her earthly life. St. John of Damascus (P. G., I, 96) later wrote: St. Juvenal, Bishop of Jerusalem, at the Council of Chalcedon (451), made known to the Emperor Marcian and Pulcheria, who wished to possess the body of the Mother of God, that Mary died in the presence of all the Apostles, but that her tomb, when opened, upon the request of St. Thomas, was found empty; wherefrom the Apostles concluded that the body was taken up to heaven. http://www.turktour.com/virgin_mary.html http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02006b.htm With love in Christ.
• Why would you pray to mary when you can pray to JESUS? Is GOD not accessable somehow that there suddenly arises a need for prayer to mary? Would that not be worshiping an idol so to speak? These are genuine questions from a catholic convert. ALL PRAISE AND HONOUR TO YOU LORD!
• idk i did to know help!!
• why would any human be given power or command in the kingdom of heaven? Adam and Eve themselves in the beginning of their creation were know to be perfect, unlike mary which cannot be proven. It says nowhere in the Bible In clear undeniable text that she was ever perfect. I agree that at her time of "virginity" she was only 13 years old, so that was highly plausible that she would be this. Although being a great individual, and the earthly mother of our savior i do believe she has a very special place in heaven with our Father, but the Queen of Heaven? I dont think so
• "Why would you pray to mary when you can pray to JESUS? Is GOD not accessable somehow that there suddenly arises a need for prayer to mary? Would that not be worshiping an idol so to speak?" I totally agree, God says in the Bible the only name given to men through whom we can come to His presence is JESUS CHRIST! NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER, EXCEPT THROUGH THE SON! so, no virgin Mary, no one else But Jesus!
• She is still alive, and she lives in Queens NY.
• She was SO important that no account of her death appears in the NT. Her bodily assumption to heaven was never recorded, in spite of that The Vatican Limited declared that she was actually taken in body and soul into a physical place called heaven (since physical bodies need physical space) as a matter of faith, DOGMA, which you are obliged to believe. The answer to your question then comes easy, Mary (is she ever existed) is still traveling the universe, a few light years behind her first son. But I can not tell you where are they going to.
