  • Yes, I would. Would you accept it if it were proven that God did not exist?
  • The problem with your question is that people from both sidew of the argument are not completely honest. They come with a framework in place and will not openly consider the facts before them. For the majority of scientists they come from the mindset that ther is no God and so therefore all of their efforts are put into disproving it and refusing to consider that God may be in evidence from all of the world around us. On the other hand Christians in particular come with the mindset that the bible debates the existence of God. It does not it merely declares it and leaves the choice up to the individual. Therefore do not believe scientific evidence will persuade anybody from either side. Faith is a spiritual thing, the evidence needs to be within, for what it is worth I believe that the Holy Spirit of God convinces people to believe in Him/
  • If the evidence pointed that way, yeah I would. The question is, if the evidence pointed irrefutably to the NON-existence of god, would you change your belief system? OR What if god turned out to be Muslim? Or Hindu? Or Zoroastrian? Or Tao-ist? Wiccan maybe? Akhnauten perhaps? Or Odin? Zeus?
  • Science will neither prove nor disprove the existence of Deity, because of the problem with proving an unrestricted negative. You simply CANNOT look everywhere, even if science were interested in looking.
  • Their already is speculation that "intelligent design" is the A in which you may be referring. The problem with that is that it brings in the psychological brainwash of esoteric religion into our schools and forces kids to follow a certain sect or group for their own personal gain. This is nothing more than anti-science, and I personally don't buy into it. If a scientist makes a discovery, he must, present it before his peers, and their is always, somebody, who is going to critizise or condemn your findings. There is more to it, than just finding a new discovery, whether it is accepted by the mainstream scientific community is another story altogether.
  • If there is a scientific explaination for a god, I would accept it as a scientific explaination of god. If science does prove a god some day, will all of the different religious factions and sects accept the scientific explaination? I really think it would be harder to get the all of the religous variations to accept an explaination, than getting the scientific community to accept it.
  • This question shows a lack of understanding about the nature of science and how that applies to proving God. The fact of the matter is that science proves NOTHING. Therefore, science cannot prove the existence of God. Rather than go into detail here, I am going to refer you to another question (http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/16188) where I gave the detailed explanation of this point.
  • No problem. If proved according to the science rule set I understand, I would be grateful. I don't *like* living in a universe without a God. It just seems that that is the universe that I live in, and I ain't big enough to change it. (If I were, I'd be God - which probably wouldn't solve my problem).
  • No. There is already very credible evidence of evolution. Even if you did fine scientific facts proving God's existance, there is still so much evidence pointing towards evolution. I'd stay an Atheist.
  • I see someone has already voted against this Discovery. As you said in your Q: "If that explanation contradicts your beleif system will you accept it?" I THINK YOUR Q HAS BEEN ANSWERED. THOSE WHO PRETEND THERE IS NO GOD WILL NOT EVEN ACCEPT IT WHEN HE STANDS THERE!!
  • Perhaps "God" just belongs to "evolution"
  • I believe in God but not like it is a huge old guy in the clouds. I consider him as a force that created the universe, that completely fits with science. I would probably accept it after I heard the whole story and it sounded completely logical.
