Help answer this question below.
It would take a lot more information to make a conclusion.
Are the people you meet mean, vulgar, rude, without moral integrity?
If so, then it would only be natural to try to avoid them, if you like what is good and abhor what is bad.
Not all people are like that, but unfortunately the majority of people are selfish and lacking in compassion.
To answer your question, it is important for you to first answer a question.
If you meet someone who is good, selfless and considers your needs before their own, treats you kindly and with tender affection, how do you feel about this sort of person?

Go me.
You're mentally unstable when you're a threat to your self or others, as far as I'm concerned.
If you don't need people to make you happy, than all the better.
maybe you have social anxiety. i don't like many people either. but i don't particularly dislike other people. just remember that people are just their defense mechanisms ... everyone puts on a front hiding their fears, insecurities, etc.
I too am like this. I go out of my way to be social and kind, but I find that the majority of people are either rude, unintelligent, or overly conforming. Although I am a judgemental person, I still give people the benefit of the doubt, yet I remain unimpressed with the common man. I sincerely believe that the main reason everyone sucks is that they strive to be likable; they're too agreeable. Avoiding conflict is thought to be a virtue, but I think it to be the opposite.

I would think, then, that your dislike of people is not necessarily a mental disorder, but a reflection of the apathy of the majority of people, and reaction to their poor behaviour. it is wise to not associate with bad people, or their conduct might influence your own behaviour, but it is also necessary to look for the good in people, to try to cultivate the good things in them and overlook the bad.
