If there was a job lined up I would. The exchange rate would ensure that I could pay my student loan off a lot faster, as my friends have done - though of course, living prices are three times as much, so I would definitely be renting.

I wouldn't even have to think twice on this one, yes, I would. Went on vacation there once years ago and absolutely fell in love with everything, even the odd cuisine. England has hundreds of year’s worth of history, culture, a beautiful countryside, distinctive architecture, and generally most of the things I wish we had here.

i've never been to england but plan to visit this year. and i would probably enjoy living there for a short while but i love my own country - u.s.a., too much to move permanately.

Well, i had and still have the chance. My husband is English, and though i love England to bits - my elderly parents and cat live here in America. Choosing where to live has been the hardest decision of my life, but for now, i chose America.

Oh yes, and I cannot emphasize that enough. That's why I'm here, looking at this site right now... I've been trying to find out how to move there, to somehow get started towards reasonable goals living in the UK, or just to find any helpful information in general, about leaving the US. I'm in a complicated, precarious situation, and I've been looking for a long time now (more like a year), and without success. I don't have any family or friends outside of the US though, so I need help. In fact I don't have anyone here that can help me, aside from my spouse, considering that my abusive family is one of the many reasons that I need to move. My spouse and I are basically trying to elope so of course we would not tell anyone in my family. So I am actually thinking about posting my own question, although I am not sure how to word it... By the way, is there any non-American English internet somewhere? Lol, it sounds like a very stupid and silly question... Sorry but the internet just sucks, it frustrates me to no end.
