One of the symptoms of depression (and other mental disorders) is called anhedonia. In short, the inability to take pleasure in things one normally enjoys.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anhedonia

Your inability to enjoy music *might* (I'm not a professional...) be a sign of anhedonia setting in.
Please monitor your situation and if it gets any worse, seek the advice of a mental health professional. Hopefully, it's just a passing minor hiccup in your life.

    Good luck.

I know many people wont agree/ think this is inapropriate, but eat some acid. I swear to God, on LSD, music is like.. nothing you've ever heard before.

    it's called...growing up..sniff...I'm so proud of you..

Actually, it is okay, your music taste is probably changing.

Try some stuff that is new to you..experiment. You might find this to be the case. Don't worry.

Maybe you've outgrown music as a big part of your life. Might be time to turn to other things.

I have the perfect cure for what ails you. Blue October is my fave band, when everything else is boring me to death... Blue October just seems to tap into the soul. I invite you all to check them out! There the most versatile band I have ever laid ears on, there music is very non-fictionaly based and dynamic, all lyrics and art is by Justin Furstenfeld who raps out an amazing story and unfolds a manic drama.

It could be that your are just a little depressive. Or maybe you need a break. Or the music is not in harmony with you. You could try some other kind of music. If you are afraid something is damaged, maybe you should see a specialist.

Try a different kind of music. That might, (just might), work.

Naming stuff like this Anhedonia is simply giving a latin name to it, hiding the fact that there is no real understanding of it in the mainstream. I was a sufferer of "Anhedonia" for many years. At it's core, it was a neurotic catch 22 where I had a tension reaction BECAUSE I started worrying about whether I could enjoy things. The tension of course created the inability to enjoy, which started the whole thing over. The root of the problem was that I thought I had to have a certain reaction, that a certain reaction was preferable or "correct."

When the music does not touch your soul, this in itself can be appreciated. This is your reaction to this music, and there is NO OTHER REACTION YOu ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE. In fact, the problem is often created by the expectation that we need to have a certain reaction. When you are truly ok with NOT enjoying life, that is when your curse will break.

try some good classical. Some say it is very boring but if you know how to truly listen it speaks a story that doesn't need words. But of coarse there is alot of boring crap out there. Just start looking. Bach has good stuff but personally not all of it is good. His later work isn't my favorite.
