    Great Answer

    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

    Gaining Experience

Attend college or other educational programs to learn about horses, animal behavior and training, horse care and about the technical aspects of horse racing. Attend an apprentice course or program, such as the Frank Garza Jockey School in California, University of Arizona’s Racetrack Industry Program or the one-year Equine Industry Program at the University of Louisville (Kentucky). Network with other aspiring jockeys, horse race owners and develop contacts within the industry.

    Joining the Business of Racing

Join the Jockey’s Guild Inc. Contact other racing associations such as the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) and The Jockey Club for more information. Contact jockey agents for professional representation (visit the Jockey Room website for an agent contacts directory).
