Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a kitten that is 3 weeks old. The mother ran away and I am now feeding her from a bottle. She doesn't seem to be urinating or pooping. How do I potty train her?

Yes, you need to "stimulate" the bowels with a warm, damp/moist towel. As if a mother cat licking, suprisingly not as gental as you would think. If you're not getting anything, try adding a little more pressure. If you don't get anything within 24 hours, you need to take the kitten to a vet to show you how or else the kitten will start getting REALLY sick. Food can't go in very well if it's not comming out at all. They think cats developed this as a method for keeping the nest clean since the mom cats basically eat it as they clean each kitten.

I contacted a vet and they told me to "gently" rub the genital area with a warm wash cloth. Do this because the mother would normally lick that area to stimulate them.
