  • I use it at work on occasion. I work in a lab, and sometimes need to do dilutions, and algebra is good for this. It is only simple algebra though.
  • Im an engineer so compared to most others, I use it a lot.
  • if you are stuck on the side of the road with a broken fan belt, you will know what size you will need without walking to the store 10 times...j
  • I have used it in school a lot! hehe but other than that i use the interest formula at work!
  • I use it in my art work to scale up and down.
  • always when shopping....how much more can i buy so as to equate my balance in my wallet to zero
  • Improving your knowledge in maths is always useful.Simple arithmetic is the basic math for a common citizen. Algebra could give you more tools to solve more complex problems. I use it everytime I face a problem which could not be solved by common arithmetic.
  • I use geometry a whole lot more than algebra, but I bet you'd be suprised at how often we use simple algebra... essentially, anytime you "solve for 'X'" you're using basic algebra.
  • I bet you use it you just don't realize it. The world is not full of A X Y have you ever figured out what fuel mileage you are getting, or built something out of wood. It is just put into real life and not a text book.
  • Other than to pass exams at school: not really. I do use maths occasionally (mainly percentages - particularly hmmm.. 17.5%...) but not algebra.
  • There was only one time. There are two problems with this: 1) I didn't really have to use it, I just chose to. 2) It wasn't algebra, it was trigonometry. I was making a pentagram design for a game, so I used sine and cosine measurements to make sure the triangles were perfect.
