My wife and I are in our 50s. I have been using viagra for a few years. My wife took 50mg just to see if there would be any effect. Of course she got the usual side effects, slight headache...we waited an hour, then headed for the bedroom. Based on my understanding of the mechanism by which Viagra works its magic on men, all that would happen in a woman is increased blood flow to the genitals. Perhaps the knowledge of having taken a "sex pill" is enough suggestion to enhance the experience, but no large-scale, controlled pharmacological tests have been done to show any effect in females. Pfizer tested doses of Viagra in female rats and rabbits for carcinogenicity, impairment of fertility, and problems in pregnancy, but failed to find evidence of any detriment. Viagra is listed by the FDA as a Pregnancy Category B drug, which means "animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women." However, it would be difficult to extrapolate the results of these studies to human females without getting flak from scientists, government, and the media.
At any rate, Viagra is not indicated for women and it is not prudent to take someone else's medication.

Nothing happened for me. I have a pretty high sex drive anyway, higher than his, but he wanted me to take one and see what would happen.
Nothing happened. I was excited and stimulated before and wanted sex, and after I took it I felt the same.
Might ask someone who actually took it, but may have had the desire/drive, but not the physical reaction (engorged breasts/clitoris, lubrication, etc.) and see if anything happened for her.

The woman will find out it's true effects later in life, as will the male, since it's experimentation phase of about 5 years, and documentation of patient related illnesses become more readily available. Perhaps it will speed up the loss of calcium in your bones, or impair you mentally at a younger age. Let us know when you get older, if you remember. Pharmacuticals tested by the FDA are basically approved if it won't harm a laboratory rat within the span of 5 years, after that, it's out to the public for true experimentation. Look at all the other pharmacutical recalls. The fact that there has even been a single instance, is grounds for diminishing the FDA's credibility. But, really, how can one small, innocent looking pill really affect my life?

I have tried Viagra a few times to see if it would give me an erection without sexual stimulation. Not a thing, just made me feel a tad breathless both times and made everything I look at have an almost ultraviolet outline. Also white things look very blueish purple when glancing past. A little strange but nothing special.
My girlfriend also tried one with pretty much the same effect. Her pulse seemeed to race a little for an hour or so then she got a bit of a headache the same as I did.
Viagra seems to have no effect on me whatsoever, so im glad I don't need it, yet, but im not looking forward to the day I do hehe.

This has been tested numerous times. Initially, people thought that Viagra would work for women as well as it does for men. However, follow up research has shown that Viagra does not have the same effect for women.
Women do not have "erectile tissues", even though some women have prominent clitoris's. The clitoris does not have erections. When stimulated it enlarges due to increased blood flow, becomes more prominent, and thus is more easily stimulated. But, Viagra does not help women have orgasms.
Viagra does help men have stronger, longer lasting erections. It helps men with erectile dysfunction have orgasm ejaculations that they cannot achieve because they cannot become erect without the medication's assistance. It's too bad, but Viagra doesn't "do it" for women. Some day they will come out with something for women, but Viagra isn't it.
