I want to get a little tattoo to remember my mum by but i want something that doesnt just say mum. any ideas?

A tattoo is something permanent that resembles something usually memorable. I'd suggest getting an image of something that connects both of you. Something that you both shared together at some point of your life. An event, a rose anything. It's not what the tattoo looks like, but what is represents.

Think of something that just the two of you shared together. A place? A thought? An item? OR...something that she loved. A flower? A fragrance? A bird or animal? Anything that only she, or the two of you could remember together. That's a wonderful thing to do!

Perhaps a picture of something symbolic between the two of you, or a nickname she might have, or a quote she lived by.

Get something that represents your mom. When my father passed away,I got a blue cross with two flowers that represented my sister and I. It's simple and help me have closure with his passing. I was like you and didn't want something so obvious. Get something from the heart and something that always reminds you of her when you see it. Don't worry what anyone says about it cause it's between you and her. Good luck, and let us know what you decide.

How about a tattoo of something she enjoyed, such as her favorite flower, her favorite holiday.

i have my mothers first and middle name tattooed on my wrist. i suppose it depends on what youre looking for, but my mother is more than my mom, she is a wonderful person and i feel that her name was more her identity than choosing to represent only part of who she is.

Choose a symbol that both of you liked or that reminds you of her, a favorite flower or such. Something that when you see represents a feeling that connects you to her. Great reason for a tatoo.

maybe you should meditate and think about it and then start drawing. whatever comes from that might be nice. i did the same thing when my great gran passed away, she was a very amazing and loved woman and now i have a beautiful tattoo that represents her and gives me strength and love whenever i see it!

Get anything that makes you think of her. this summer im getting one to remember my mom by too and i hate the "mom" tattoos. so i thought of one thing that really connected me with her. I remembered when she was dying i just told her "forgive me" over and over. the smallest words of wisdom, her favorite song, the song that played at the funeral home. anything works. just that one thing that makes you smile thinking of her when you see it.

maybe a lil angel with her b-day & the day of her passing. My neighbor got that after his mom passed away with her name on it. I think it was the lil cherub angel with a banner under it on his back. Btw I'm so sorry for your loss. ((hugs))

my friend has an amazing chest piece. she has a heart with a crown on it and theres a banner on the heart that says mom. and behind the heart and crown its just different colors and stars and flowers. i cant really describe it too well. much better in person.its amazing and has been featured in tattoo magazines.

I have a pink and lilac 'angel' feather with a tear drop falling from it in the small of my back. It reminds me that my mum is always with me and I love it.

am also thinking of getting tatt to remember my mum am having a lot of trouble with it, my mum had a unicorn 1 which i was thinking of getting but it dont suit me, i would like an angel as i believe she is now my angel i av the 1 i want in my mind but cant find it, any ideas on a site to check out. my mum loved the saying i carry you heart in my heart, my mum died 2 years ago so i got a tattoo with a we heart carrying a heart and under if i have i carry you heart...something that means something to you! i was only 16 when she died so member to get something that means something to you good luck and im sorry!
