  • The garbled script screen is known to appear on computers when there are hardware malfunctions. While this is something most people hope to never have happen, the inevitable truth is that most computers will suffer from this issue. But you can sniff out the problem and often fix it without having to take it to a repair shop.

    Fixing the Problem

Garbled script refers to noise on the screen which distorts the look of the words on the screen. It will start slowly with certain parts of the text blurring and distorting but will get continuously worse to the point where every screen is just as bad. While this may seem software-related, this is not the case as you may notice it occurs even during the booting process. The main problem will come down to the memory in the computer. RAM, or Random Access Memory, is known to cause these issues as, when it goes bad, it cannot process the information the way it is intended to. The RAM can be tested by inserting it into another computer to see if it causes the same problems. As it most likely will, the RAM will need to be replaced. Upon a restart with fresh RAM, your computer will be back at its optimal running speeds with a fresh display.
