Leaving contact lenses in for too long, regardless of lens type or manufacturer, can have serious vision consequences. Generally, doctors agree that contact lenses may be left in for up to 14 hours per a 24-hour period per eye without any adverse effects. However, leaving them in for more than 16 hours a day can cause corneal hypoxia, which, in the long term, can result in the cornea's loss of transparency.
