Ink refill kits are an inexpensive way of reusing costly ink cartridges. Also, the procedure for the refill isn't really that hard to do and enables users to gain near brand name quality printing for a cheap price. This is especially true with black ink, which doesn't need any mixing of colors for the refill process.

On the Other: Messy and Color Inks Refills Don't Alwayds Work

The refill process involves using syringes to draw ink from small ink bottles and insert it into the cartridge. Therefore, any ink that isn't squeezed correctly can cause permanent ink stain. Also, with color cartridges, multiple colors need to be added together and if they aren't inserted in the right place or mixed correctly, then color printing won't work correctly.

Ink refill kits offer a cost effective way of refilling expensive printing cartridges. However, the quality is generally not at the same level as the originals that are sold by leading print supply companies and this is most apparent in color cartridges. Therefore, for those that don't need the highest level of print grade, refilling of black ink cartridges, are a great way to save money on printing costs.
