I think that some people have too much time on there hands and that this excess of time feeds their innate paranoia.

I think they are just another "anti establishment" paranoia urban legend. I have seen many of those cloud trails being left from military combat planes flying very high in the sky. Conspiracy freaks don't hesitate to say that those are chemicals being left by the government to be tested on us. You know, those guys think that we are like lab rats for the evil scientists that are part of "big brother"... I have heard that those "chem trails" are just the condensation caused by the heat from the jet engines getting in contact with the cold air up in the sky...
