Certainly not. You can be single and unattached and still be very happy. To me though, having a partner is liking having icing on cake. You don't need icing but it makes life sweeter.

I really think it is. At maybe one time a person would want to share feelings with a special person. Yes there are advantages to being alone, but life would be a lot easier to understand.

That depends very much on how much your life is entwined with theirs and how much you love them. You do not know just how much you love and miss a person until they have gone . Then even the silly little things that you never even realised that they did become so huge in your mind. From personal experience I can honestly say you do not know how much you rely and depend apon your partner until they are no longer around.

"Necessary" to a longer, healthier life for humans (a pairing being by nature.) I've read blurbs of studies that show that married or partnered people live longer than those living alone. Studies on the positives effects of pets on the elderly indicate that "partner" doesn't have to mean of the same species!

It is not necessary. Whether or not you should depends entirely on you. If you find one that you wish to be comitted to and to partner with then by all means you should. If you prefer to be independent and therefore alone through life then don't. It really depends on your temperment.

It really depends on the person. Some people can go their whole life without a serious relationship or get married and be just as happy as someone who did while others would get depressed.
