Why are so many people surprised if someone say that they are Jewish? whats wrong with being Jewish?

Well, that would depend where you are. If you are in the middle of Iran, yes, that would be a surprise. If you are in the middle of the mountains where I live with lots of horses and cattle, I'd say, "Moo?" instead of "Who?" I don't think you would even be on the radar screen here.
