Why is this question posted under Hounds? Neither the Cavalier King Charles (Spaniel) nor the Yorkshire (Terrier) is part of the Hound group. All dogs shed. It's just a matter of to what degree. Yorkies are low shed because they don't have fur like dogs typically do. They actually have hair that continues to just grow and grow, like a human's. Poodles are the same way. This is why they don't shed as much as some other breeds, however, no breed is completely non-shedding. Some Cavaliers shed heavily and blow their coat twice a year (spring and fall). Both breeds require regular grooming.
