Help answer this question below.
Do you have evidence of your accusation?
BTW, no one has 'voted on the health care bill' yet (Nov 22, 2009)
The Senate simply voted to begin debate on it.
100 million what? Dollars? Pancakes? Orgasms?
It'd be nice to see the source of your statements.
Pft, and to think that some poor fuckers pick up beer bottles on the ground so they can buy one pack of oriental noodles at the dollar store and eat it raw while they wait to die of ass cancer.
They all sold there souls, and our lives to the devil!!
Old School is right that there hasn't been a vote yet. Otherwise, the answer is both - the $100m offer was a bribe, and her bumping it to $300m was extortion. But don't worry, it was all nice and legal, perhaps unless they check her deep freeze.
Extortion. She admits it, although she denies receiving the money had anything at all to do with her decision to vote to allow the healthcare debate to go on. Yeah..right..you betcha! :(
Sounds like typical politics. With Mary Landrieu, there was probably a fifth thrown in as well, or at least a mimbo.
Well according to what is in the question, the first is bribery.
Yes, a.k.a. business as usual.

Who is going to ask Weiner to resign? To do that, the politician must not have any skeltons in his/her closet. Loll Ain't none or very few.

You're reading She was offered 100 million, She insisted on 300 million, and she got it. So Mary Landrieu went ahead and voted for the health Care bill. Was this a case of Bribery, or Extortion?
Comments
On MSNBC this morning I saw a clip of Landrieu justifying her switch from being adamantly against allowing the debate to allowing the debate to begin and insisted that receiving that 300 million had nothing to do with her switch at all...she was very proud to get that money and it didn't influence her one teensy tiny bit. So evidence? How about out of the horse's mouth? :)

OK, I have now been able to research and confirm this accusation.
.
But it would be nice if, given the current "It's not a lie if enough people believe it" political climate, the person asking the question would provide a link or at least more detail on the specific claim.

Hey Old School... How many times have you made this same accusation of me, and how many times have any of my allegations been false....Hmmmmm????
I hear or read things and throew them out, If You don't believe them, find out for yourself...
But stop accusing me of making things up, just because you are not aware of these current events....

They DID vote in the house to continue the debate and send it to the Senate... It was going to die in the House untill Bribes started being handed out...

You know Old School during the Teabagger's Heydey I saw coverage of some of the events and also some of the racist/insulting/vulgar/disgusting signs some of them carried. I mentioned it on AB on was excoriated for it and called a liar for it by most respondents. I could not provide a link because I don't how to do that. It hurt me deeply that anyone would think I make something like up. So while I understand your wanting "proof" of things sometimes we don't know how or exactly where we saw whatever it is.

You are very good at always providing links to everything to back up what you say and I have told you how proud I am of you for being able to do that. I have also told you about my inability to do that. Now we are good friends and I know you know I would not make stuff up.It hurts a lot to be called names like "liar" when you did nothing wrong. Just so you know how it feels to be on the other side of that fence. Anyway, hope your trip up north was groovy and welcome back home if that's where you are! :) Happy Tuesday! :) ((hugs))

One last comment OS. Arisztid happened to read that thread and came to my rescue by providing links to show that what I had said was true..there were such signs carried by some people. I thanked him profusely of course for going to all that trouble for me but no one ever apologized for calling me a liar and insulting me. Unfortunate isn't it? Among that mob there were a couple of people whom I had thought were "friends". Silly me. :(

@Designer - With respect to things you've posted that turned out to be incorrect, I need only look at your last comment.
.
The House voted on their version of the health care bill and passed it without huge amounts of spectacle.
.
http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/11/07/house-passes-historic-health-care-bill-long-road-ahead-for-ref/
.
They did NOT vote 'to continue debate'. If there was bribery....er, horse-trading...involved in getting the bill passed, you don't cite any examples.
.
Conversely, the SENATE is where votes to end debate or open up debate are significant, because the filibuster rule allows a minority to 'gum up the works'.
.
Whether your last comment indicates misunderstanding of the situation, or a deliberate attempt to mislead, I do not know.
.
But perhaps you can now see why I get *very* skeptical whenever inflammatory accusations are posted without mitigation ("I've heard X, but I could be wrong...") or corroborating evidence.
