That would depend upon whether or not he/she was claiming to be "morally superior" to another one who did previously.

No. I'd want to vote for someone with integrity (which, unfortunately, a good number of politicians are lacking.)

I guess it depends. If she were cheating with me, I might.

No but that is related to what my definition of marriage is and if the cheating was 'repeated' it would sway me.

Any man or woman - whether a local, county, state, or national politician - would not receive my vote if his/her marital infidelities were publicly known.
Anyone who cheats on his/her spouse will cheat anywhere else where such an opportunity presents itself....and there are plenty of opportunities for cheating in government.
In the integrity department we seem to no longer expect or demand much of our elected officials at any level.

Since ALL politicians are dirtbags in one form or another, it seems a bit capricious to decide that being a dirtbag for one reason is more onerous than being a dirtbag for another. Every time I vote, I am voting for some sort of shithead. Answer....why not?

Probably not since his actions show lack of character and integrity.

I believe in the separation of private life from public life. Yes, if he or she were a good politician I would not hesitate to support them.

If by cheating we are to understand that he did this without his wife's knowledge or consent, I would have a hard time trustng him.
    .
If he had a more open arrangement with his wife, I feel that it shouldn't bother me as much but I think I would still hold it against him.

in this condition you can't cast your costly vote to any politician.infect we see the party which he/she belong to, not individually the candidate.
