Help answer this question below.
Before I answer I wish to state that the reason that the article is about whites and not some other ethnicity is because whites are the majority. If, say, blacks or my people were the majority, it would be happening with us.
It is a function of who is the majority populace, not the specific ethnicity. Ok, on to my answer:
This nation is turning into a pressure cooker and I am not surprised one little bit. Resources are dwindling, population is rising (mostly of minorities, changing the status quo which always causes upheaval), change (good and bad) is happening. Change, by its very nature, causes stress whether it is good or not.
Right now the status quo (whites being in power) is being threatened so that makes extremists of that faction up in arms.
I would say that "far right hate groups" is pretty much correct if you put the word "extremist" in there but add to that the following: not all conservatives and Republicans fall into that classification. "Extremist" is the key word here.
There is no doubt that this is happening just like there is no doubt that racial tensions on all sides are increasing. I have read that membership in La Raza and the New Black Panthers is rising as well. "Extremist" fits in here too.
The majority of the hate groups are white because, well, the majority of America is white.
It is happening in Britain too. Look at the BNP and Loyalist C18. It is happening in many nations in Europe. It is balls to the wall genocide in some of those nations against the scapegoated ethnicity.
Who can read the evidence and still deny that the exremists on either side are becoming more active and more whacky in America today. (Read any question by Jim or Wraith for evidence.) 8:P
It's easy if someone doesn't believe the evidence.
Jim, I don't think there has been in real violence on behalf of the right, if any violence has been committed it has been from the left, and there is a history of it.
On the other hand it's the anarchist in recent history that commit the violence.
Wouldn't defining anyone by race be considered racism?

What is worse...a blatant racist/bigot or one who has no idea what a racist/bigot he/she is? Does being clueless make it less awful?

Agreed. I'd like to hope we are dead before war breaks out from it.

I hope we are too.

I was going to comment that it's happening in Britain too, but you beat me to it. A new one, the English Defence League has formed too just this year, and has begun demonstrating against Islamism, with a sister group the Scottish Defence League having their first demonstration in Glasgow in the last couple of weeks.

Oh just lovely. I, truly, am glad that I am not going to live a long life and I do not have any children.
.
How active is Loyalist C18? I know that most recently they have been out to get my people, however, I know that they have a history of going after other minorities.

One of the things they say about Americans, while being a stereotype, is often true: Americans tend to, when asked questions about life in general, think about America only.
.
I am not one of those Americans.

Thanks, Arisztid, for an excellent answer. And by all means, I did not intend to imply that all Republicans are extremists. I do think the party is making a deal with the devil in hopes of reinvigorating itself. Such deals seldom pan out as wished.

Happy to say Combat18 aren't very active now..... we pretty much brought them to their knees back in the 90's. Thank you ANL.

They are still very active against my people, Joker... very.

You are most welcome, Jim. I hope it does not come to pass but I fear it shall.

Oh yeh, sorry, forgot the whole Northern Ireland thing.... well lets just say we smashed Combat18 in England back in the 90's. Although frankly, I think the greater threat now comes from the normalisation of extreme right-wing ideas by the media & politicians. Just the language used, talking about certain groups such as immigrants as being 'a problem', has undertones of Nazism & the ‘Jewish problem’ as they liked to call it.
Northern Ireland does have some unique issues to deal with though. The amount of illegal weaponry still available to a large number of increasingly discontent ex-loyalists, who, lets face it, were just angry thugs looking to hurt people. Now it’s no longer republicans, these closed minded, violent individuals are targeting immigrants & foreign nationals.
