Does your wife trust her stepfather? It sounds like a difficult situation with the potential for a lot of hurt feelings. I know it's extremely hard to not worry, but if your wife seems comfortable with her stepfather having your son, then you'll probably just have to go with her feeling on it. Talk to her about what your dad said and see what she thinks. Remember that she has probably put trust in your father in the past without really knowing what he is like either.
