Yes! I am Moslem, living in a Non moslem country. The reason I posed the quested was to ask: Is it my moral responsibiliy? Our families do not really get along and my brother's ex wife kept the daughter from us. Only now that he is no longer alive have they re-appeared and now request money, stating that Sharia Law states that it is my abligation to take care of the daughter financially. Is that fact?

You do not indicate whether you are a practicing Moslem.
    .
If you are, I believe there is a moral responsibility for you to practice what your religion teaches.
    .
What, do Mosems believe is the penalty for not following Sharia? Is it hell?
    .
If that is what you beleive, should you save some money now and face hell later?
    .
If you are not a believer, I do not believe you have a moral responsibility to live up to anothers beliefs.
    .
You do not indicate where you live, but if it is not a Moslem country, I doubt that there is any legal responsibility on you part.

When you choose to be a muslim, you take on the responsibilities of your faith.
