I don't believe I would take it so personally as to be hurt, simply because they were involved in speaking to someone else when I arrived on the scene! So what....Sometimes I might be deep in a conversation with someone else...it doesn't mean I don't value the other person just as much, or that I would fail to pay attention to them, once I am finished with what I am evidently deep in the middle of. Of course...knowing myself....I would acknowledge you with a smile that promises I will be looking forward to talking with you too...but I would be rude to simply abandon the first person just because you have arrived!

Depends. If we've been interrupted in conversation by someone and now he/she doesn't have time to finish talking to me, I would ignore and never finish my talking cos I was first. If I was the "3rd" person I would just wait to their talking finished by doing something so it won't look obvious that I desperatey want to talk ;p Just act normal, I'm not the most important person in the world.

Glad we had this chance to talk

Before, when he couldn't be bothered because he was obviously "talking" to someone else, I would have been going about my business and making new aquaintances myself...when he finally decided he had time to spend with me, my reaction would depend on which direction my life went in the meantime, and how much I liked him.

"Oh cool. I was wondering if we'd have time to chat." If this person gives other people their undivided attention, then you'll likely get the same thing from them. Enjoy it. Not everyone will be that focused.

That depends on the person and the situation.
