Do you mean Internet Explorer starts on its own? Or that Internet Explorer is still set as the default browser?
If the former, I'd suggest using a startup manager to fix that:

You're reading I've just downloaded Fire Fox but Windows Internet Explorer still appears when I first boot up. Is this suppose to happen?
