It's either a marker, or a pen. How can there be something known as a "marker pen"?

It's a pen, but a certain type of pen. There are ball point pens, fountain pens and marker pens. it's name identifies which it is. Years ago they were called magic markers cause the ink would mark any type of surface and once dry, was hard to erase.
