Considering Jesus appointed the first pope (Peter) to continue Jesus' work. When Jesus comes back, will he take over the Vatican?

Yeah i think he should, but if jesus acctuly did come back most people would see him as a fake.

i think there's LOTS of christians who would dispute the proposition that Jesus "appointed Peter to continue his work" ... I wonder how many popes are going to be in that crowd asking "did we not do all these wonderful things in your name?" and Jesus replying "I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of iniquity"

Father Donahue says that when Jesus returns there will be no need for popes anymore, and in fact some of popes might as well be cast into the lake of fire at that time.

Maybe so, then he would do the biggest garage sale in history to get rid of a lot of stuff, then rewrite the New Testament with actual historical facts and use the garage sale $$$ to print and publish the factual edition in an attempt to unify Christianity.

When he comes back he will bring the city of New Jerusalem with him. So the vatican will be superfluous.
