No.I'm a selfish American.

I care about innocents who go hungry yes. I am a little less enthused with those who ruin their countries and run them into the ground and then come over here trying to do the same.

Sure But as regards hunger, people in the third world wind up in this place on my order of priorities My children My siblings My girlfriend My other blood relatives My closest friends (people with whom I have a history) My fellow veterans Other friends (clients, people with whom I do other business, people who have done me favors) The poor in my community The poor in my state Disadvantaged US citizens People in the third world

I do care about other countries but there are so many people in the US who are starving and/or living way below the poverty level. I think they need to come first. The agencies set up to help those countries steal most of the money that is donated. I heard that they get somewhere about 10% of all the money that comes in and the rest goes in the pocket of greedy corporate employees. This will, I am afraid, only get worse as time goes along. I could take 1/2 the money I send there and feed who knows how many people. I hope I don't sound cruel with this.

Of course! We tend to get so caught up in our own personal goals and needs and agends as well as those of our town, state and country and the things that directly effect us and we tend to forget that as a species it is our goal to raise the standard of living for all people in the world. We could eliminate world hunger now, but we choose other things and until we learn to set aside boundaries and possessions and start looking at the world as a whole then we will continue to see places where famine and disease exist.

I worry about hunger in MY country...+
-
yes but not as much as I should,+5

Do I care, yes. Do I think the U.S should keep sending money and food to these countries, No. The reason being is that most of the aid sent goes into the hands of the already corrupt countries leaders and ends up being profited from instead of really feeding the people. Until they get that under control, all aid should be halted.+4

I am always thinking about the kids and people who are hungry in third world countries every time I am about to eat or throw away food. In my country Haiti they make mudd pies just to survive. It is always heart stabbing to think of the mud they eat just to survive.

Yes, but I really care for the hungry of my own community. Karen volunteers at the Food Pantry and tells me stories. It's heart wrenching.
