  • i belive it should...if your in pain and theres no cure and your just counting the days until you die...well...i think you have the right to determine weather or not you want to live your last days of life like that...its YOUR body,YOUR feeling the pain and it should be YOUR decision
  • I have always been opposed to euthanasia. However, my grandmother recently passed away and her last days were very, very sad. She could not recognize anyone or respond in any way. She was literally waiting for death. When I saw her in this state, I understood for the first time why people would support euthanasia in certain cases. DESPITE this, I am still opposed to it. Life is sacred. As painful as it may be at the very end of one's life, it is God (or nature, whatever your belief may be) that must make those decisions. Once we as humans decide that one life has less value than another and therefore must be ended, it opens an extremely large door that leads to an even larger, slippery slope.
  • I believe the only one to make that decision, is an idividual. Not God, not government and not family members. I have seen many people languish for days upon end, in pain, not able to eat, just wasting away, slowly. We don't let that happen to our pets, why should we ask a person to do this? If, while in their "right mind", a person should choose that they do not wish to live that way, who is anyone to deny them that? I'll just have to answer to HIM for that thought!
  • I believe they all should be. I am a huge believer in Euthanasia.
  • No I don't. I believe in the sanctity of life and if we don't protect all life then no life will be protected.
  • I think that euthanasia should be possible but my only objection to it currently is: Who do you trust to make the best possible decision for you. And I mean for you, not for themselves, or for the law or for public opinion or your family or your dog or anyone else - who can possibly be trusted to do what is best for you, maybe even against your wishes. I don't know that there is another person on this planet or any other that I would totally trust with that kind of decision for me. This is your life and your death.
  • I believe that very broad, generalized cases of Euthanasia should be legal.
  • Yes. When suffering is so pain full and it is their wishes.
  • No, life is God's to give and His to take. But I do say there should be far more thought into when they put somebody on to life support. I wonder if sometimes they keep a body alive in order that they might learn something and then they have to let the relatives make the awful decision to turn off the machine, hence the medics have no conscience problem!
  • It's already a viable and legal option to remove someone from life support, at least in the U.S. Euthanasia is a different animal. It's the use of medical assitsance to end one's life when life - while deteriorated - is still sustainable. I think that, too, should be an option available to people. How dare my government legislate when and how I end my life? Still, I think there should be protocol in place; a system of second opinions and psychologial evaluation. If it's determined a person is making a sound decision, I'd certainly rather he benefit from the medical expertise of a physician than take matters into his own hands. It's the medical imperative and physicians do no harm; I believe sometimes the greater harm is letting a life deteriorate to a level we wouldn't let animals endure.
  • yes I do
