Both. The strange thing is, the ones involving people I know, the people will always be changing, one minute its a friend the next my sister. I guess I only have so many hours to dream and so many to dream about! ;)

99.9% strangers Two recurring 'dreams' 1. Getting ready for work/school/ anappointment and time passes and I cannot seem to get out of the house. Something keeps preventing me from leaving and time keeps passing and I am later and later and later. I never leave. 2. I am somewhere I don't recognize among people I don't know..it is dark and getting darker and people are leaving and I don't know how to get home and I seem to be invisible. No one hears me and I am left alone. I have had these dreams for many years and I call them my "anxiety" dreams. Don't know what the trigger is but as you might gather they are not favorites of mine. I like to be on time so the first dream is a nightmare because I know I'm going to be late. The second dream seems to be a fear of abandonment. I remember having that as a very young child. I never outgrew it! :)

Usually they are vague, senseless slices of life with somewhat familiar settings where people from my past and present come and go. Only occasionally can I get a handle on what one was about and relate it to something going on or that happened in my life. Most of the time, they are senseless meanderings or flashes I can barely remember.

My dreams are random. Some people and places are known to me, some not.
