  • Banning other people from marrying each other? The only type of marriage Mormons are trying to ban is gay marriage (that I'm aware of) and I'm sure it's for other reasons. After all, many people against gay marriage aren't Christian. There's a whole slew of reasons for their decisions (though their merit is up for debate). Even if the history of Utah is one of those reasons, I don't think it's the main one.
  • No. The LdS Church has clearly taken an Anti-Polygamy, Pro-America stance and I can't sense any hard feelings toward the U.S. Federal Government. In fact, if the LdS Church was secretly planning to reinstate polygamy a good strategic move would be to support lifting any type of restriction on any type of marriage - including gay marriage. So I just don't see any part of the assertions in this question being valid.
  • No. It is because homosexual behavior is not acceptable to God. . Would you be happier if we went Biblical, Old Testament, Law of Moses, and lobbied for the Death Penalty for Homosexual Behavior?
