How long should you boil rocks from your yard to make sure they are clean and free of any parasites or whatever before putting them in with a turtle?

Ooo! Good question! I've never thought about that, but now that I have, I'd think 10 minutes at a rolling boil would be fine. That's usually good to kill anything in the water itself.

- that sounds like it would work. Turtles in the wild have to deal with germs, so i don't think a few remaining ones would hert, but i'm not an expert on this.

- I guess that kinda makes sense, but since this one came from a pet store (my daughter's friend got it and her mom wouldn't let her keep it...I guess turtles are so demanding! lol) I would worry that after being bred generation after generation and not being exposed that it might be an issue.

- Yeah that is true. i guess just boil the rocks for as long as you want, my guess would be 5-10 minutes, but that's my guess. P.S. Make sure it doesn't run away. :)
