Many of us suffer from acid reflux and medications to treat the disease can be costly and full of unpleasant side effects. Herbal treatments are much less expensive and are easy to obtain.
Chamomile
Chamomile tea has soothing effects that provides relief from acid reflux. It is also effective at eliminating gas, stomach cramps and nausea.
Dandelion Root
Dandelion root battles indigestion with its bitter flavor. The bitterness stimulates the production of saliva and saliva helps to neutralize acid.
Licorice
Licorice can increase the levels and circulation of PGE (prostaglandin E) throughout the body. Higher levels of PGE will lower the amount of stomach acid and increase stomach mucous. For this reason, licorice is often used to treat a number of stomach conditions.
Slippery Elm
Slippery elm contains mucilage, a slippery substance that does not dissolve in fluids. This substance is beneficial to the GI tract and helps to relieve inflammatory bowel conditions.
Warning
