They are arguing about who gets the biggest share of the loot, it's way less destructive than fighting to see who gets to loot the population. Politicians know who they represent-the party, it's backers and themselves...you? Did you donate/bribe them big time? I want true democracy this representative thing is a scam.

A $50 Lesson in politics: I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?' She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.' Her parents beamed with pride. 'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But wait, you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where a homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use for food.' She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy just come over and do the yard work, and you can just pay him the $50?' I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.' . Her parents still are not speaking to me. *****************************************

You disparage both the Democrats and Republicans...than endorse a Republican?? If you're really sick of the "pissing and moaning", you ought to support a third-party or independant candidate.

I Have a simple 3 step plan I think most people would agree with: Step one: I would actually like to see ALL of the politicians in elected office federal, state, and local rounded up and DEPORTED to whatever country would have them....get rid of them all! Step two: I would outlaw the formation of political parties in this country, political action groups, political lobbyists, and every other kind of special interest fund raising or blackmail group out there. Step three: No political fund raising, or donations to a campaign would be allowed. All candidates will debate each other in taxpayer supported public forums which will be shown live on TV and radio and will be reported in the press without added comment from political pundits - or reporters....people will be forced to make up their own minds about a candidate and will not be mislead by someone doing their thinking for them, Do these three things and we will get our nation back from the special interests who really run the government. Anything less, ( except for the deportation part,), will just lead us back down the same old road were on now.

I used to play chess with a guy who would always talk shlitz during the game. The more he talked, the madder I got. The madder I got, the more games I'd lose. That is, until he revealed to me, (Laughing) "I don't give a shlitz about you gettin' mad. Whatever it takes to distract you from what's happening on the board." From the looks of the political Q&A here, politicians have been quite successful at keeping everyone distracted.

I do not often agree with you but... ... a-f*cking-men! I am tired of the whining on all sides. I agree: instead of spending time whining about the other side, concentrate on what you (the generic "you") actually wants done. I would go with Ron Paul. Obama and McCain were two evils. Personally, I think Ron Paul would have done a better job than either.
