I walk regularly in the woods and public footpaths here in England and have on many occasions been seen by other people, and I've never had any trouble, most seem happy to stop and chat, some have asked many questions and then joined me on my walk, but the strange thing is, nobody has ever gone running away screaming, they seem happy to accept the situation.
