  • This is a metaphor for revenge. The Bible speaks of many things, some good, some bad. Just because it mentions revenge, it doesn't say that revenge is condoned by God, nor does it say that it is desirable. These are the words of a songwriter, not of God. Have you heard some of the stuff songwriters are writting these past 10-20 years? This is way mild in comparison! What if the song "I don't like Mondays" was discovered by an archivist 3000 years from now. It would mean you were part of a civilization that condoned killing your classmates at school! (Or that's what someone on Answerbag 5009 would be asking!)
  • This Scripture is not referring to literal children. The religious harlot referred to in Revelation as Babylon the great (which represents all false religion) is said to have children--branches. It is these children that are referred to in Psalm 137:8,9. If one wants to know what the Bible really teaches, it tells us to seek and search for that which is right and then hold fast on to it...Others will continue to search the Bible for verses that they feel supports their anti-God stance. Than there are others who are sincerely seeking answers. Hope this helps...Though this is getting into the deep things of God.
  • Obviously God had to put up with bratty kids too.
