Help answer this question below.

My playstation 3 will turn on but it only shows the background, it will not show the menus and when I put in a movie or a game it will show that it is loading but never plays, it still just shows the background. How do I fix this?

Have you tried resetting it? switching it off waiting a few minutes than turning it back on? has the PS3 recently been hooked up to another tv?

I had the same problem I hooked my PS3 up to an HD television then hooked it up to a SD tv,and I had no background and movies/games wouldn't load.
