It is difficult to not offend those who are in the habit of being offended.
-
I would say you are likely to offend some people ,but it is your choice to ware what you want .
-
I'd say 'GO FOR IT!'
-
Just because someone is offended doesn't mean they are ignorant! I think the level of potential "offended-ness) may depend on what your costume consists of and your behavior during the time you're dressed up. That said, it really IS your choice and yours alone. However, think of when Prince Harry dressed as a Nazi a while back. He made his own decision but it was certainly a stupid one. Not comparing your costume to something as offensive as dressing as a Nazi, just making a point that just because it's your choice doesn't mean it won't be in bad taste.

its obvious that if you did indeed choose to be jesus for halloween you would be doing it to stir some kind of controversy. so really who cares what other people think. id say do it. i think it would be funny.
-
As long as you don't turn the wine into water you should be ok.
-
You might be better dressing as Pilate or Herod or a Roman soldier or one of the thieves on the cross, they were the last ones to mock Christ. Interestingly, Pilate and Herod didn't have very good lives after that. I don't know about the soldiers. It really doesn't matter what people think of your actions. What matters is what Christ thinks about it.

i'd reconsider after all jesus is nowt to do with halloween and even as an athiest can see its deeeply offending
-
Aw, blackberry, if that is what you want, then do it. If people are offended you can always bless them anyway. People have to start accepting humor.
-
If you'll be at a bar, you'll probably get a lot of drunks asking for forgiveness, and that could get annoying. Unless you are willing to put up with that, I'd reconsider, and go as Moses instead.
-
So you'll be wearing a big nose (Jesus was Jewish) and long wig with an equally long beard.....some sort of long rough nightdress (As per Life of Brian) and sandals and I assume you'll do some miracles along the way.....who could possibly be offended by that? Now, if you were to take a cross and invite people to nail you to it, turn the wine into water and eat all the bread and fish you're definitely going to upset someone. However, isn't the point of most Halloween costumes to offend or shock? Sounds like an ideal costume to me ;0)

It is ok. Just make sure you go to a manger to sleep later. Don't forget the donkey. Every Jesus needs a donkey.
-
Hmmm. For Halloween? Well, I guess if you had nails protruding through your hands it could work. If you're gonna offend people, you might as well do a good job of it.
-
meh i would enjoy it. ppl need to be good naturered, why would it upset ppl if u dressed u as jesus? you are not saying that jesus is BAD or anything so i dont see what is the problem. im curious what are these reasons you may upset ppl?

Religion has always been a touchy subject because everyone has their own views on it..I personally wouldn't be offended..but it may strike up a few fights in the bar. (Drinking and religion don't mix)
-
So be John the Baptist instead. Since he was beheaded, you can even go as Headless John...
-
Meh just do it. If someone expresses their discontentment, remain polite and explain that it's for fun and not in your intentions to offend anyone. If they remain offended, then fuck em. That kinda person probably wouldn't be happy no matter what you did, anyways. Aside from that, Jesus himself probably thinks it's awesome. Can't be worse than this guy anyways.
-
Dressing as Jesus to make fun of Him? It sure as hell doesn't matter to Jesus but it makes you look like a classless ass.
-
As long as you don't go in with the attitude that you intend to offend. While yes it is humorus in the way you see it, it could be offending to another, that doesn't make them ignorant, that makes them strong in their opinion as you are in yours. Expect some to see you as ignorant as well. I personally am not offended, but I wouldn't see someone who is as an ignorant person.
-
People may not realize you're Jesus unless you're lugging a cross on your back. They might think you're an Old Testament prophet or some such....In any case, I doubt Jesus himself would be offended; he often hung out in bars with disreputable folk.
-
Hell no do what you want and if your going to be in a bar you shouldn't have to worry about bible thumpers being there
-
How are you going to identify yourself as a particular camel shagger? Think about the old saying "Don't mock the afflicted" though.
