  • The most common thing to make LCD monitors stop powering on is a burned out inverter board. You can replace it quite easily, it's just a matter of finding the part. Your best source for this is google of course. I went ahead and helped you out a bit and found the part for you on sale: http://www.lcdpart.com/Products/invc551.html $99.99 I also took a look at the model monitor you have and it's pretty old and small compared with today's standards. You might be better off taking that 99bux and putting it towards a new 20 or 22in widescreen, which are about $130-200 nowadays. Also, try to stick with name brands with LCDs, not that IBM isn't a namebrand, but they aren't a primary LCD manufacturer. There are actually only about 5 companies in the world that make the screens for LCDs, and toshiba and samsung are two of them. All of the other monitor manufacturers are putting cheaper parts in to run the screens they buy from the LCD manufacturers which cause them to flicker and dim with age. I've had 2 samsung 22in WS for about 4 years and the things have not failed to be bright and beautiful every time I turn them on. Newegg is usually your best place to get anything computer related: http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=20&name=LCD-Monitors
