Friends find each other without looking. Don't try so hard and keep in mind, a relationship is not always the answer to happiness.

If you're talking about 'girlfriend' in a relationship sense, then I understand why you ask as it can be harder, if you're in high school, to find a partner of the same sex when sadly not all gay/bisexual people feel secure enough to express their sexuality, for fear of being shunned, thanks to a great portion of society still finding it an 'obscene' and 'touchy' subject. And until you're legally an adult, don't try dating sites - you never know what lying creeps are out there. I think it's important to learn to love yourself before you let someone else love you. A relationship isn't healthy if one depends on their partner for happiness and security. If we can create our own happiness, and be secure in ourselves, then finding a partner who loves us boosts this even more. Of course we all have our insecurities, I'm not ruling that out, not saying we have to be 24/7 happiness gurus before we get into a relationship of any kind :P But I do know how nice it feels to have someone you love intimately cheer you up when you're down (and I think we've all had some reaalll blue days!). But just cause you're not in a relationship doesn't mean you can't have a shoulder to lean on- friends, parents, siblings, and other family members, kids help lines where you can chat to a councellor about your feelings and just have someone who can listen and understand, getting set up with a pen-pal, etc, are all great uplifterers! And aside from people cheering you up- I find keeping a journal a nice way to to release my thoughts- and in time I can look back on them and see my journey. A way I like to eleviate my droopy days is through singing, I find it super uplifting! Just remember hun that you're not alone :]

Don't be afraid to be yourself. Talk to people. Sooner or later you'll find friends -- yes, and even girlfriends -- of a like mind.
