  • I think it should be much easier to adopt. I mean I understand they don't want just anyone adopting kids, and they should still have a process, but I think anyone willing to adopt means they want the kid which is more than you can say about some parents. Adoption also needs to become a much more appealing alternative to abortion as well. I for one would not see the difference in my children if one was adopted and another wasn't. I would very much like to adopt some day if its a possibility.
  • I don't know the cost associated with adoption within one's own country, but am sure the high fees of international adoption are an obstacle for many would-be parents. I realize there must be a lot involved in adopting from another country (travel, travel docs, agency fees, lawyers fees), but it is sad that money could stand in the way of adoption.
  • The answer is Yes. We adopted from overseas and it costed over $35,000 then, 6 years ago. What happens now the foreign countries toughen up the adoption process by putting more barriers. For example you have to make 2 trips to the country instead of one, and stay longer too. The foreign countries' governments want to squeeze as much money from you as they can. But it works as a backfire to them - our agency's business drastically downsized: people can simply not afford.
  • more than likely
  • yes i think so and most at times only those who do not want to use the services of an agency will prefer a cheap adoption plan.
