I've recently switched from Windows XP to Vista and much prefer it...What are your thoughts on Windows Vista?

i don't like it. my computer runs on it. it's practically built for beginners. i hate that there is a wizard for everything & each action or command has to be broken down into little baby instructions. i may not be a computer genius, but i know enough that i don't need my hand held. plus, it freezes, crashes, & restarts all the time & i'm not even using half the memory. then it always has an update to install... i just really hate it.

I hated Vista, the lay out is pretty but it still has issues and takes up ALOT of memory, I prefer XP.

I think you jumped the gun a bit my friend. Windows 7 is available in a week. Every review I've read rates it as vastly superior to Visa or XP.

I wouldn't have Vista. XP is much better, but Windows 7 might be the way to go, we'll find out very soon. :-)

I don't like Vista I would almost, but not quite compare the issues with Vista to those of Windows ME. ME was/is by far the worst piece of f**king crap OS that has ever been invented I hope Windows 7 is better

I've never had any issues with Vista. It does seem a bit dumbed down though. I've heard Windows 7 is supposed to be good.

I upgraded from Windows to Linux for free a long time ago, but I like to keep an open mind and so always try any new operating system. My thoughts are still that both XP and Vista are abominations from a convicted monopolist out to line their pockets rather than create a decent OS for the people. The initial reviews of Windows Vista touted it every little bit as much as Windows 7 is currently being touted. "Revolutionary", they called it... just like the last time. Every Windows release is "better", "faster" and "makes you more productive"... and yet strangely every release is bogged down with crashes, virus infections, spyware, trojans, adware, file fragmentation, bloated and corrupted registries, etc, etc. Some, like Vista and ME, are merely bigger failures than the rest.

I like Vista, I don't think it's all that 'babyish'. I'm not someone who has to have an uber-powerful, professional OS, although if I ever had my own business, I'd probably look for another OS.

*retch* *vomit profusely* *dry heave* Whoever thought Vista was a good idea should be shot... and then shoot their entire family (anybody closer than 2nd cousin) just to make sure that their idiocy doesn't contaminate the human gene pool. I'd go on but.... *continues dry heaving*
