Flying chairs. +5
a cure for all cancers
You know, the Jetsons gave me some whacked ideas when I was younger...Now I'm just confused, haha!
There have been a few designs that have been put together but nothing, so far, seems commercially successful. The design problems are tremendous and until we have stronger and lighter materials, it doesn't look like it's in the cards. One major problem is the cost. Just to learn to fly a plane costs many thousands of dollars. Then there is the cost of flying (gas, maintenance, insurance, etc.) and the fact you have to land at airports. Private plane use in this country has actually gone down over the years, which is another disincentive.

I expected the same thing. When I was little, I was afraid of the "future," because they didn't have trees in the Jetsons and I really liked trees.
Flying cars, robots, space suits.... everything that was in the Jetsons, I thought we would have by the time I was grown up!
