Question

Help answer this question below.

My 1997 Ford Explorer will turn over but won't crank. It has a half of tank of gas, new battery, new wires, new plugs, air filter, and fuel filter. Do know there is no fire getting to spark plugs. FYI was running fine when I parked it.It has 209,000 miles

My 97 Exploder did the exact same thing and after much research I changed out the crankshaft position sensor. It was a chore finding the correct part so consider taking off the old one and matching it up. The dealer wanted $130+ for the CPS but I got one online for less than $30.

Wow... 209,000 miles. That's impressive, but I suppose not as much as it should be since it is a Ford. I have a '73 F100 with almost 175,000 that still runs great. Have you checked the distributor/ignition coil, or the starter solenoid? Just a few ideas of what it could be. Hope it helps.
