  • People would like it even less if they would read this: http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-10-08-healthcare_N.htm
  • 72% of doctors say that health care reform is critical. . my health care reform plan is a whole lot better than the president's, the democrats', or big business'. http://healthcarereformprop.blogspot.com/2009/10/health-care-reform-chapter-1.html read it. you won't agree with 100% of it, but, i bet that it'll convince you of almost everything in it. it's my little attempt to try to introduce reason into this heated debate! ha! if you read it and like it, tell your congressman and senators. if not, also, tell your congressmen and senators. ultimately, the important thing is that we the people get back involved in our government.
  • Only 41% support the Obama plan because it would be harmful to the average American. It would be better to keep the status quo, and people are starting to realize this.
  • I believe many people are opposed because they are misinformed. The same could probably be said of others who support the plan. It's crucial for citizens to educate themselves as thoroughly as possible to get the FACTS about the reform, and not be influenced by irresponsible rhetoric on either side of the debate.
  • I think the vast majority don't understand what's in the plan, myself included. +4
  • My thoughts are that in a Republic, legislators should listen to the voters.
  • Hmm. Very odd. I have heard/read that 77% of we the people are for "the public option". Now, how do we square this circle I wonder? Happy Saturday to you! :)
  • My thought's are that the Obama administration doesn't give a damn about what the American people want!
  • That is will probably pass anyway, they don't care what we want, they only care about what they think is best for us, as if we are unruly, ungrateful children.
  • I'm sure that very few of either the supporters or the opponents have actually read the bill... they just go off of what their media outlet of choice tells them to believe.
  • Sure. And the average American's judgement can be guaranteed to be thoroughly educated, researched, understood and unbiased. ;-)
  • The link takes me to some university newsletter. Where does the original data come from? American voters put Obama in office. That's a fact.
  • The country is divided in half pretty much, this has been apparent for a long time, what else is new.
  • It just goes to show that Bozo Obama and the rest of the liberal clowns don't give a damn about what the American people want. BTW, the American people are also voters and history will also be made come mid-term elections in 2010.
  • 1) Yes, this would mean that President Barack Obama does not have a very strong popular support for his plan. Disapproval seems here to be higher than approval. "oppose 47-40" means: 47% disapproval, 40% approval This would mean that Obama and his supporters still have to work to get popular support for their health care reform. Maybe some issues have to be better explained, or some very unpopular parts must be suppressed. 2) However, I found some rather positive findings for Obama in the same poll: - "[American voters] support key parts of the plan, including 61 - 34 percent for giving people the option of a government health insurance plan that competes with private plans" - "The public view on the specifics of the proposed health care overhaul has not changed much, although a bare 50 - 45 percent majority now supports requiring people to have health insurance, compared to 51 - 44 percent against in a July 1 Quinnipiac University poll." - "President Obama's job approval is 50 - 41 percent, virtually unchanged from his 50 - 42 percent rating August 6" - "Voters disapprove 64 - 25 percent of the way Republicans in Congress are doing their job, with 42 percent of Republican voters disapproving; Only 29 percent think Republicans on Capitol Hill are acting in good faith; Voters trust Obama more than Republicans 47 - 31 percent to handle health care; Voters 53 - 25 percent have an unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party."
