  • French and German..I took French..but I wanted to learn Spanish or Italian..they later bought spanish into the option but by then I had left school :D
  • French was compulsory and German was an option between year 7 and year 9. After that, neither were compulsory but I continued with French up to year 11. No other foreign languages were available. (In the UK, in the late 70s/early 80s)
  • French. And I was stupid enough not to make a greater effort to learn it. Languages are a key to a richer life.
  • There were four languages taught at my school English French anishnabe (ani-shnob-bay) and Spanish, I was required to study 2 of them French and English, but I also took some native studies classes an learnt how to speak a bit of anishnabe.
  • In primary school, learning Indonesian was compulsory. Then, it was Japanese. In grade 9, we could drop Japanese, but I continued on with it until grade 11.
  • When I was in 4th grade, they started offering languages in our school. We weren't required to take them, but I did. I took Spanish in 4th & 5th grade and then again all through high school. They also offered: French, Latin and German
  • Required to take English, Latin and Greek. We also had a choice between Spanish, German or French. I chose Spanish.
  • I assume you mean secondary school, Jadey. My school,St. Paul's in New Hampshire,offered French, German and Spanish as modern languages.Had to take at least two years.They offered Latin and classical Greek. Had to take one year if on honors track. +4 Jadey :-)
  • In the US we were offered Latin, Spanish, & French. I took Spanish in 9-12th grade. We were only required 2 years though, and required one language.
