  • Popess?

  • If a woman ever became "pope" it would be the end of the Catholic church. This isn't some kind of sexist statement (though I do realize it sounds that way). Catholicism has prided itself on its divisive ways. To go back on that would exhibit the fallibility of the church itself. It would have to admit to half of its members that it's been wrong for 2000 years. If that's not the definition of inequality, closed-mindedness, sexism, and the blatant ignorance of the church itself, then I don't know what is. . For a church that claims to know the truth, to admit its own ignorance is to assassinate itself. It would just go to show that the church doesn't know any better than anybody. . For the sake of the end of the church, I hope they do admit a female pope.

  • We won't have to worry about that until after you meet some female Catholic priests.
  • I'll go with "Gen". This will only occur when there is true humility with the male chauvinist members who are in the hierarchy to "help" the people of God. That will take a LOT of humility to become Christlike. +5
  • Ask again in a thousand years,
  • Good question although I can't think of an answer! I asked my priest why there are no females ministers and he said it's because we feel that male priests are the closest representation to Jesus as humanly possible. The key word is HUMAN. We are flawed as we've seen in the news lately (although there are THOUSANDS of other religion ministers that are abusing and raping people). Women are smart enough, worth enough and can do the job without a doubt. So it's not a sexist thing.
